After high school graduation, Wendell attended Rice
University, Houston Texas for one year. He transferred to the
University of Tennessee, where he graduated with honors in Electrical
Engineering in 1965. He then enrolled in graduate school and
received a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1967 from UT.
Wendell and Regina, his wife, grew up in Chattanooga, Tennessee
and are graduates of Tyner High School (Wendell, 1961 and Regina, 1967).
They were married September 23, 1967 and moved to Huntsville, Alabama.
Wendell began work for the Boeing Company and Regina enrolled at the
University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH).
From 1970 to 1979, Wendell served as Youth Director at Bethany Baptist
Church in Huntsville. In this role he worked with 60 to 100
teenagers each year, leading in retreats, revivals, Youth Week and other
youth enrichment programs. He also served as Chairman of the
Student Ministries Committee for the Baptist Student Union at UAH.
Regina graduated from UAH with highest Honors and was selected the
Outstanding English major in 1975. She was awarded an
Assistantship to continue her studies and received a Masters in English
in 1977 from UAH.
On February 4, 1982, we were blessed with our first daughter, Katie.
She is now a sophomore at the University of Georgia, majoring in Art.
Four years later, on October 13, 1986, our second daughter, Emily was
born. She is now a freshman at Grissom High School.
Wendell is currently employed as a Staff Consultant for Intergraph
Corporation, Huntsville, Alabama. Regina teaches 11th grade
Advanced Level English and serves as coach of the Academic Team at
Grissom High School, Huntsville, Alabama. The Academic Team won
the state championship in 2000 and 2001.
